Welcome to The Progressive Party of Aotearoa New Zealand
(PPANZ)
The Progressive Party is offering a new model
UN Secretary General Guterres says “it’s a lie that free markets can deliver health care for all”
Former PM Jacinda Ardern says “capitalism is a blatant failure”
Even Jim Bolger says the model needs to change.
The Progressive Party is offering a new ethically-based model that embraces a holistic view of the world by acknowledging our physical, mental and spiritual dimensions.
The Party’s policies have been designed to fulfil this holistic model. They reflect a commitment to meeting the basic needs of people and all living beings.
It is a model capable of transforming our society.
Relating to the rest of the world from a position of strength
Covid-19 and the GFC (Global Financial Crisis) of 2008 both revealed how vulnerable New Zealand is to economic and pandemic crises.
Progressive Party policies include maximising NZ’s self-reliance. We fully accept that NZ’s standard of living is built on its trade with the rest of the world, so maximising our self-reliance is not a call for protectionism.
What it does mean, in the first instance, is ensuring our ability to meet our basic needs so that we can relate to the rest of the world from a position of strength.
